I have an external hard drive (Mad Dog multimedia) that used to work fine with my Toshiba Laptop with XP. I then bought an Acer Laptop with Vista and it wouldn't even recognize the external drive. An IT support person at work said the drive needed to be "redesignated" to "G" (I believe) because the Acer computer/Vista wouldn't recognize it the way it was. We did that and it worked fine. However, I just discovered that my Toshiba with XP won't recognize it. I'm traveling overseas tomorrow and want to finish backing up everything from my Toshiba and put it on my new travel laptop once and for all.
Any suggestions? (Can't go back to the person who helped me because he's no longer works with me.)
If the laptop has a drive G (for a DVD or SD card reader), it won't recognize anything else with a drive G but you can go into disk management and assign another drive letter.

I have tons of digital pictures all on several different computers. Keeping backyard chickens for profit or for personal consumption is not as easy as you might think. You must be responsible enough to provide care and attention to your chooks especially the young. Careful planning should be made regarding your intended use for your chicken whether for personal use or mainly for organic chicken meat production or organic egg production for profit.
This will be the basis of what kind of holding places that you will construct for your chicken. If You Want an organic, free-range chicken for example, you should set up a secured chicken run or holding pen. Keeping backyard chickens for egg production would require a different approach altogether. You could make a closed and carefully constructed chicken coop for laying hens, the size of which depends on the number of chicken it will accommodate.
Whether you live in a city or town, keeping backyard chickens could be a troublesome affair if you fail to recognize laws and ordinances that govern you particular locality. Here are some legal obligations that you should be aware of regarding raising chickens:
The Animal Welfare Act of 2002 Proper food, water, and protection should be duly provided for all animals. Proper treatment should be provided for sick animals or should be humanely killed and properly disposed when the need arises.

The chickens should be locked up at night and if you do not have any provisions for solid flooring, the sides should be planted at least 50 cm. deep into the soil with an outward screen mesh underneath to prevent foxes from digging them up. You should consider totally enclosing your holding pen with a screen or net if there are aerial threats from hawks or eagles.

Will a fox attack me?
I saw a fox in my backyard and tomorrow morning i have to walk through it to get to school and i was a little scared. If I see the fox will it come after me?
Foxes are smart predators and becoming more numerous. The spin off from human habitation is often that there is more food, garbage, chickens, lambs etc for smart predators (and rats and cockroaches etc) that can hide near a human environment. Animals, basically, will attack humans if they feel that you threaten their life, their young, their food or if You Are their food. A human is not eligible (edible) by a fox unless tiny and helpless (eg a baby or tot) or unless dead and unattended (road kill). If You Don't see your fox Then There is no problem for either of you to fear. If you do see the fox, it will probably be looking at you (higher senses) and observing your reactions. To not chase it away, you might slow down, lower your body height and show no sudden, noisy or aggressive intent (take a photo - no flash). As long as the fox can see you at a distance (it will notice if you are a child or an adult) it will not fear you. Fear generates aggression in all animals, including the most savage ones (such as the human species). Do not feed the fox, as it is alive and watchful, it already has sufficient means to provide for itself. If you are unfortunate enough to be bitten by a fox (or a dog for that matter), and if it won't let go of you, then smash down a free hand (chop) suddenly on top of its snout (the nose ridge between its wet smelling tip and its brow. Due to the large number of nerves along this ridge (needed as, unlike us, smell is a prime sense of dogs and foxes) it will let go and want to run away. Do not do this to a naughty Pet Dog as it will no longer like or trust you - if its naughty, only give it a gentle tap with a finger on that pressure point and your pet dog will know that it has displeased you - don't wait too long to do it, do immediately after the wrongness or not at all). If you have been bitten and blood has been drawn then immediately get medical help for a tetanus shot etc. Enjoy the creatures of nature and know that you are one of them and also a non-threatening part of them and their world.
